Morphogenetic Variations of Pinus sylvestris L. Seedlings Depending on Altitude

The research aims to determine the morphogenetic variations of seedling characters in populations representing vertical distribution area Scotch pine Turkey and reveal within among population areas. In study, seedlings (three, four five-year-old) grown from seeds collected five altitudinal zones up 2250 m sea level natural Trabzon region were used. Seedling length, root collar diameter, number side branches, crown buds sturdiness quotient determined. As a result it has been determined that there are statistically significant differences different altitude zones. It is understood average lengths increase transition 4th zone 5th Zigana, while height decreases all three growth periods due general. Also, 2nd elevation Maçka 3rd mean diameters increased. On other hand, at altitudes than these, diameter averages decreased as Moreover, located high had better value. All biological, forestry technical measures should be taken protect genetic resources forestry, diversity forest trees transferred future generations.
